Confession

Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. - Matthew 18:18

Confession is your opportunity to open up your conscience to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to receive assurance of his forgiveness through the prayers of the Church. It is the expectation of the Church that all Orthodox Christians will give their confession at least once annually. It is of great spiritual benefit to give your confession more often than that, but especially when your conscience is troubling you.

Before your confession, either earlier that same day or the day before, take the time to prepare yourself spiritually. Sit down in a quiet place, pray that the Holy Spirit would guide you in making a complete confession, and examine your conscience.

Confessions at St. Nicholas are heard after Vespers on Saturday evenings. If that time does not work for you, please contact Fr. Jeremy to schedule a time for your confession.
