Adult Education at St. Nicholas

Religious education is not just for children. All of us need opportunities to continue to learn and grow in our faith. Adult Ed allows us to discover and explore the teachings and Traditions of Orthodox Christianity while also connecting with our fellow parishioners and learners.

Orthodox Christianity 101

Starting in January 2021, Adult Ed will transition into Orthodox Christianity 101. This class is designed for inquirers, catechumens, or any other adult who is interested in a broad overview of the teachings, practices, and history of our Church.

Orthodox Christianity 101 will meet at 6pm on Tuesdays, beginning on January 12. The class will be held in-person at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. An option to attend via Zoom will also be available. As part of our Adult Ed program, this course is open to individuals over the age of 18 only. We respectfully ask attendees to not bring their children to class meetings.

For this class, we will be reading and discussing Frederica Matthewes-Green's Welcome to the Orthodox Church: An Introduction to Eastern Christianity, (Paraclete Press, 2015).
